Andreas Huber

Andreas Huber has been a passionate speaker for sustainability and future-oriented mindsets for the last ten years. He is a member of the German Association for the CLUB OF ROME – a think tank for global challenges.

Andreas Huber grew up in a small village in Southern Germany. A lecture about sustainability and ecosocial market economy inspired him to rethink his point of view and to change his life. After completing his studies in 2008 he started working as an intern for several organizations and was soon given leadership positions in various projects. Only three years later – in 2011 – he was appointed Managing Director of the German Association of the CLUB OF ROME and two years later – at 32 years old – made one of its 40 members. He also serves as a honorary Member of the Board of Directors for the DESERTEC Foundation – Clean Power from Deserts.


Richard Cope

Senior Trends Consultant, Mintel

With over a decade of experience in market research and future thinking, Richard helps clients apply trends strategically to their various business sectors. As a globally recognised leading trends commentator, he publishes thought leadership pieces and makes regular media and conference speaking appearances.

Richard’s ‘Sea Change’ trends prediction project foresaw the ocean plastic furore and fallout and saw him interviewed on BBC Asia in Singapore, whilst he has worked on sustainability strategy projects with food, bottled water, transport, beauty, ingredients and energy companies and fronted Mintel’s ‘Teenagers Forever’ conference series across Europe and North America, looking at the green needs of young consumers. He presented on the future of sustainable packaging at Cosmetics Business Packaging Live (Barcelona) and is overseeing Mintel’s expansion in to sustainability research across 35 countries.

Elisabeth Schwaiger

Head of Research & Development, Packaging Paper, Mondi

Elisabeth had already been working for Mondi Frantschach for two years when she was awarded a doctorate in 2009 by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna for her thesis on the principles and new technologies for improving kraft paper printability. As project leader and head of operations of the R&D Innovation Centre in Frantschach, she took the opportunity to gather extensive practical expertise in an industrial setting. Elisabeth was appointed head of research & development in Frantschach in 2012, and was additionally entrusted with leading the research & development activities of the Mondi Packaging Paper Group in 2016. Her published works include a review of the practicalities and limitations of measuring techniques for paper properties affecting flexographic printability.


Gerhard Drexler

Head of R&D Services, Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper

Gerhard Drexler holds a string of master’s degrees in science disciplines, an MBA, and a PhD in information management awarded by Leeds Beckett University of the UK. He joined Mondi in 2003 after acquiring twenty-six years of experience in a variety of roles focusing on science and innovation. After working in the biochemical psychiatry lab of the University of Vienna, in 1987 he was appointed Head of Analytical Chemistry in Hausmening by Neusiedler, which was integrated into Mondi Group in 2000. He then became Head of Pulp and Paper Production in Kematen, and ultimately Vice President Innovation of Neusiedler. At Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper he is currently responsible for inkjet paper development, joint research projects with universities and equipment manufacturers, and patent management.

Gladys Naylor

Group Head of Sustainable Development

Throughout her career, spanning 20 years in the corporate environmental and sustainability fields, she has been inspired by the opportunities to achieve positive outcomes both for the environment and for people. She leads Mondi’s work across all sustainability topics ranging from paper to plastics, forest management and responsible procurement, social sustainability and human rights. Her focus is to support improvements in the sustainability performance of Mondi’s operations around the world and ensure that ‘sustainable by design’ is integrated into all aspects of Mondi’s business.


Petr Jindra

Head of Technical Sales Services, Speciality Kraft Paper, Mondi Štětí a.s.

Petr Jindra was already gathering valuable papermaking experience while at school, when visiting the paper mill in his hometown where his father was working. He continued his education by studying chemical technology and specialising in papermaking at the University of Pardubice in the Czech Republic. After graduating, Petr was recruited by Mondi in 1999. He worked in a series of operator and technology positions in paper production for 15 years and then joined the managerial team. During his career he has acquired extensive papermaking expertise with diverse grades, including sack paper, containerboard and speciality kraft papers. Petr has occupied a senior technical sales service position since 2014 and now enjoys applying his papermaking experience and developing his knowledge of paper converting, especially in the fields of bags & shoppers and coatings & laminates.

Kennert Johansson

Chairman and Secretary General, CEPI Eurokraft

Kennert Johansson graduated in business economics from Linköping University in Sweden. His principal subject was logistics. He joined the Swedish forestry cooperative Södra in the 1970s and worked in the logistics section for wood and finished products for eight years. The next step in his career took Kennert to a research establishment, which now forms part of RISE, the Swedish state-owned research institute and innovation partner, where he stayed for 35 years. He worked as a consultant and researcher in the packaging segment, focusing on packaging logistics. For many years he was responsible for trade and industry groups in paper production, corrugated and kraft paper, paper sacks and paper carrier bags. Kennert is currently Chairman and Secretary General of CEPI Eurokraft, the European association for producers of sack kraft paper for the paper sack industry and kraft paper for the packaging sector.
